Rodney Merce
Rodney L. Merce, 73, of Kimbolton, passed away on April 16, 2026.
Rodney was born November 19, 1952, in Coshocton to the late Leroy and Ruth (Lawrence) Merce. He graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1971 and worked in the oil field. He later went on to become a beloved bus driver for Ridgewood Schools. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and mowing his grass. He also loved spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Cristie Merce; his children Keith (Sarah) Merce and Brian (Courtney) Merce; his grandchildren Kamryn Mae Merce and Gabriel Allen Merce; a foster granddaughter; his sister Janet (Dave) Strouse; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Roger, who passed away in 1955; and his oldest son Jason Merce who passed away in 2021.
Per Rodney's wishes, a cremation will take place. A visitation will be held at Addy Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, and again on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Isleta United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Isleta United Methodist Church with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating. A graveside service will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ridgewood FFA Chapter, 301 South Oak Street, West Lafayette, Ohio, 43845.
