Kathryn Marner
Kathryn Sue Marner, 67, of Berlin, Ohio, peacefully went into the arms of Jesus on Friday, May 1, 2026, after a brief battle with Leukemia.
She was born June 15, 1958, to the late Rudy and Mary (Byler) Petersheim. On June 19, 1976, Kathy married the love of her life, Paul Marner. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this year.
Kathy was the youngest of 11 siblings. She graduated from Kent State University in 1996 earning a degree in Nursing.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and Nana. Kathy worked as an obstetric nurse and was actively involved with the Lions Club. She also served as a manager and board member of the Harvest Thrift Store.
Kathy enjoyed spending time with her card ladies in Florida, was an avid puzzler, and especially loved being a grandmother. She had a true gift of hospitality and warmly welcomed anyone into her home for dinners and holidays.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Erik Marner of Millersburg; her daughter, Jaimeé Miller of Sugarcreek; and bonus children, Aaron and Marlene Swartzentruber of Dundee. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Kara Miller, Addison Streer, Holden Marner, Corbin Marner, Paisley Miller, Asher Miller, Hannah Swartzentruber, and Rylan Swartzentruber.
She is also survived by her siblings: Emmanuel (Mary) Petersheim, Sam (Sarah) Petersheim, Elizabeth (James) Hartzler, Sadie (Galen) Miller, Bill (Hazel) Petersheim, Barbara Weaver, Anne Swartz, and John (Ruby) Petersheim.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jonas Petersheim.
Kathy’s favorite verse was Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
