Hiland boys tennis, baseball teams earn wins
Tennis sweeps opponents, baseball nips Ridgewood
The Hiland boys tennis team picked up a 4-1 win over Alliance in NET play April 27.
Joel Leinbach won 6-0, 6-4 at first singles, while Noah Troyer won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles. The first doubles team of Clay Lehman and Quinn Mullet won 6-1, 6-0, while the second doubles duo of Max Jones and Ryan Baird won 6-3, 6-3.
Hiland rolled to a 4-1 victory over Claymont in nonleague action April 24.
Troyer won 6-2, 6-2 at second singles, while Chase Coblentz won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. The first doubles tandem of Lehman and Mullet won 6-0, 6-0, while the second doubles team of Jones and Baird won 6-1, 6-0.
Hiland cruised to a 5-0 win over Massillon Washington in a NET clash April 23.

Baseball
Hiland eked out a 2-1 win over Ridgewood in Inter-Valley Conference action April 22.
Grady Monigold went 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored to lead the Hawks.
Michael Miller added two hits and an RBI. He also started on the mound, allowing one unearned run on two hits with nine strikeouts and two walks over five innings.
Damon Troyer earned the win in relief, scattering three hits over two scoreless innings with two strikeouts and a walk.
