Esther C. Troyer
Esther C. (Schlabach) Troyer, 93, of Walnut Creek, Ohio passed away at her home on Monday, June 1, 2026, after a period of declining health.
She was born on March 23, 1933, to the late Christ O. and Mary Ann (Miller) Schlabach. On March 12, 1953, she married Vernon B. Troyer who preceded her in death on August 16, 1999.
Esther was a member of Christian Community Fellowship (formerly Fryburg Beachy Fellowship). She was a homemaker and provided taxi service in the community for 38 years. Her patient, gentle spirit and ready smile will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Ruby Schlabach of Walnut Creek, Allen (Pam) Troyer of Millersburg, Rhoda (Mervin) Yoder of Coshocton and Wilma (Steve) Miller of Walnut Creek; grandchildren, Eric (Danielle) Troyer, Michelle Troyer, Chris (Melissa) Schlabach, Jess (Matt) Stein, Erika (Conrad) Yoder, Colton Troyer, Kendra (Clay) Honigford, Natalie (Bryce) Burgett, Lydon (Vonda) Yoder, Nic (Lynette) Yoder, Kyle (Maria) Yoder, Kaitlyn (Phil) Eash, Bianca (Matt) Litty and Kim (Josh) Miller; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Ella Schlabach of Walnut Creek and a sister-in-law, Leona (late Henry) Schlabach of Sugarcreek.
In addition to her parents and her husband Vernon, she was preceded in death by her three sons, Larry, Wayne and Willis; two daughters, Mary and Miriam; brothers, Albert (Esther), Melvin, Roman, Aden, Henry and Norman; and sisters, Katie and Fannie.
Funeral services will be held at Bethel Fellowship, 4183 SR 39, Millersburg, on Thursday, June 4, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Melvin Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Fryburg Church Cemetery. Friends may call at Bethel Fellowship from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
