Darian David Atwood, 16, affectionately known to some as “Double D” and “Tub Tub” passed away Monday, April 20, 2026.

He was born January 6, 2010, in Zanesville to Jonathan C. Atwood and Haylee A. Nixon. He was currently a freshman at River View High School, where he excelled as an All-Star in sports, including baseball, soccer, and wrestling.

Darian was a very happy and loving child with a great sense of humor. He was strong-willed, including in his faith which was very important to him.

He loved the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. Looking towards the future, he had expressed his desire to follow in his dad’s footsteps one day as an Army Ranger. He was so deeply loved and cared for by his family and friends, and will be forever missed.

He is survived by his father, Jonathan Atwood of Warsaw; his mother, Haylee Nixon of Warsaw; two siblings, Drake Atwood and Dezlynn Atwood, both of Warsaw; his grandparents, Trecia Atwood of Coshocton, David & Beth Nixon of Warsaw, and Dave and Ann Laughlin of Coshocton; great-grandparents, Ken and Sandy McCullough; two nephews, Trusten and Asher Atwood of Warsaw; several aunts and uncles, including Anthony (Danielle) Atwood, Todd McCoy, Dustin (Angela) Anderson, Ryan (Brandi) Nixon, and Lindy (Devin) Klein; numerous cousins; and his favorite dog, Creed.

Darian was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Stanley Atwood, and great-grandparents, Don & Nancy Nixon, Larry "Hoot" Gribble.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Fischer Funeral Home, 412 E. Main St., Warsaw. Pastors Bill & Kyle Dunfee officiated. Burial followed in Dutch Run Cemetery near Darian’s home. Visitation was held Friday evening, April 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. FischerFuneralHome.com.
