On day three at the state track and field meet River View senior Parker Andrews battled through weather delays. He earned a top-five finish in the Division III 200-meter dash at the OHSAA Jesse Owens Memorial State Track & Field Championships held at Ohio State University.

After posting a time of 22.09 seconds in the preliminary round, Andrews entered the finals as the ninth-fastest qualifier. Despite multiple weather delays and a lengthy wait before the championship race, Andrews delivered another strong performance on June 6, matching his preliminary time of 22.09 to place fifth in the state.

Coshocton’s Kash Murphy competed in the Division III High Jump at the OHSAA Jesse Owens State Track & Field Championships.

While several competitors saw their times slow in the challenging conditions, Andrews remained consistent and moved up four spots in the final standings to earn All-Ohio honors.

The top-five finish marks Andrews’ second consecutive All-Ohio performance in the 200-meter dash. As a junior in 2025, he placed seventh in the state with a time of 22.14 seconds.

Andrews closes his River View career as one of the area’s premier sprinters, earning back-to-back state podium finishes in the 200 meters while representing the Black Bears on Ohio’s biggest track and field stage.

River View’s Karson Kehl and Coshocton’s Kash Murphy also competed in the Division III High Jump at the OHSAA Jesse Owens State Track & Field Championships.

Kehl placed 14th in a field of 18 finalists. The Black Bear senior cleared 6-0 on his second attempt before coming up short at 6-2.

Murphy, a sophomore, tied for 16th place after narrowly missing all three attempts at the opening height of 6-0 in the state finals.
