Coshocton KOA opens Jolly Bee trailer
The new poolside food trailer at 24688 County Road 10 began serving campers, swimmers and the public June 4
The Coshocton KOA pool reinvented its snack bar this summer. A ribbon cutting was held June 4 for the new Jolly Bee Sips & Treats Food Trailer.
“We were able to put in new flavors, thanks to a team member who has a passion for that,” said Camille McPeek, who owns the KOA with her husband Ryan. “Last year we had a full concession stand, but this year with Jolly Bee’s we are offering fresh takes on traditional foods.”
Chef Kristie Henderson has a passion for taking simple, natural ingredients and transforming them into a tasting journey.
“She started with us last year and really knows what customer service is all about,” Camille McPeek said.
Traditional nachos and cheese have been transformed into Nature Trail Nachos, using Ohio grown and made tortilla chips, house-made cheese sauce, black bean salsa and cilantro (now growing at the KOA). A standard lemonade has been transformed into a passionfruit refresher with honey and coconut cold foam, topped with freeze-dried strawberry crumbles. Cold brew has become Campfire Cold Brew, with all-natural chocolate drizzle, smokey honey cold foam and toasted marshmallows. Other fresh takes include hand-dipped ice cream, hot dog and Popsicle specials.
“The hot dog is so refreshing that you don’t feel bad for eating them,” Camille McPeek said.
The Jolly Bee is open from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays now through Aug. 4. The trailer is open to campers, swimmers and the public. Opening is weather dependent. Any closings will be posted on social media.
“If you are not swimming or camping, you are still welcome to come in and buy some food to take home or enjoy here and use the playground,” Camille McPeek said.
The Coshocton KOA is located at 24688 County Road 10 in Coshocton.
