Cardinal Chorale to perform in Coshocton
The 36-voice ensemble will present a free June 12 concert at Roscoe United Methodist Church as part of its seven-stop Ohio tour
The Cardinal Chorale will be in concert at Roscoe United Methodist Church, on Friday, June 12. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Organized in 1995 by its conductor, Charles R. Snyder, the Cardinal Chorale is a select 36-voice traveling ensemble of high school and collegiate singers from around Ohio and neighboring states.
The chorale has sung at professional development conferences of the Ohio Music Education Association and the Ohio Choral Directors Association, three gubernatorial inaugurations, the rededication of the Ohio Statehouse, and a concert at Penn State University celebrating the 100th anniversary of Fred Waring's birth.
Their five-day, seven-concert tour will include concerts in Chesterville, Marion, Bexley, New Concord, Newark, and Coshocton. The chorale's 90-minute program will feature selections from their current show, "Love Will Be Our Guide," music that "will fill the soul and lift the spirit," as one listener described a Chorale performance. Some selections on this concert will include: "The Longest Time," "Yesterday Once More," "For Good," "Seize the Day," and "This Is My Father's World."
Area chorale members include: Aaron Bolz, Jensen Cunningham, Jonah Gano, Mason Gano, L.J. Grimmett, Camryn Karcher, Mattie Kiser, Josaline Leasure, Emily Maple, John Stamper, Mallorie Stamper, Aidan Stevens-Woolery, Brianna Stevens-Woolery, Liam Stevens-Woolery, Sheldon Stotts, Lily Thorson, Finn Webb, and Michaela White.
There is no admission charge for the concert, but an offering will be received to help cover the Chorale's tour expenses and provide scholarships for singers to participate in the ensemble.
