Helene Lamp
Helene Lamp, age 104, of Richmond, Texas, passed away on May 28, 2026.
Born on October 2, 1921, in Germany, Helene lived a life marked by faith, kindness, loyalty, generosity, and honesty. She was the beloved wife of Denver Lamp, mother of Sheryl L. Fairchild, Sharlene M. Mathis, and Gary W. Lamp, and touched the lives of many through her volunteer work at Coshocton Hospital, the Coshocton Care Center, and Northeast Medical Center Hospital in Humble, TX.
Helene worked as co-owner of Coshocton Bottled Gas Company in Coshocton for 25 years and was known for her efficient work as office manager. After the death of her husband, she enjoyed traveling annually with her two daughters for 25 years. She enjoyed baking pastries, pies, and cooking. She was also a devoted member of the Church of Christ and found great joy in attending worship services and participating in church activities.
Helene is survived by her two daughters, her son-in-law, Mark Dean Mathis, her grandchildren Shannon Fairchild (Trina), Bret Mathis (Liz), Bryan Mathis (Bianca), Blake Mathis (Beth) and Brandon Mathis (Jolene). She has 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters, Irene Zych of Fairpoint, OH, and Darlene Ray of Longview, TX.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, C. Denver Lamp; son, Gary Lamp; sister, Trudy McMillen; brothers, Elten Schiller and Eric (Dutch) Bertsch; Mother, Frida Schiller and Father, William Schiller.
Those who knew Helene will remember her for her love of family, friendships, and church. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 10:45 am with Pastor Lloyd Tenney officiating. Burial will be held at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Colony Church of Christ, 2140 First Colony Blvd., Sugar Land, Texas 77479, or to the Church of Christ Coshocton, 1800 Chestnut St., Coshocton, Ohio 43812.
