Reva Jane Olinger
Reva Jane (Mckee) Olinger, age 92, peacefully passed, moving on to her new heavenly home on Sunday, May 17, 2026, surrounded by her three children. She was preceded in death by her beloved Harvey on January 7, 2019, at age 96.
Reva was born on December 26, 1933, near Keene, the sixth of seven children of William H. and Gertrude (Shaw) McKee. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers William (Rosalie), Edward, Max, Wayne (Patsy), and Sister Jean (Meryl).
She graduated from Keene High School, Class of ’51. She was employed by JCPenny in Coshocton before meeting and marrying her husband Harvey of 66 years on August 16, 1952. They began their marital life living in Coshocton and later moved to a new home in Chili. Several years later, Harvey and Reva moved to the North Appalachian Experimental Watershed on SR 621 where they lived and farmed for 18 years.
Reva excelled as a housewife, loved gardening and was an expert canner. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. Their next move was to a smaller farm off SR 93 in Fresno. In the fall of 1999, their final move was to a home on County Road 2, living next door to their daughter Gail and son-in-law Tim.
She was a tireless sports fan, as she attended her son Bill’s cross-country and track meets at Ridgewood High and Muskingum College, and her son Dave’s basketball games at Ridgewood High and the University of Pittsburgh. Her stay-at-home favorite sports were watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Guardians and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Reva was a member of the Chili Crossroads Bible Church for 61 years where she taught children’s Sunday School classes and worshipped with her mother-in-law, Iva Olinger and numerous other relatives. From Chili she moved to the Fresno Bible Church located to their adjacent farm off of SR 93.
Reva is survived by her daughter, Gail (Tim) Unger of Fresno, who cared for her parents in their declining years, sons, Bill (Phillip Pylant) of Palm Springs, California, and Dave of Avon Lake, Ohio; cherished grandchildren, Madison and Austin of Avon Lake, Sister, Carol McKee and sister-in-law, Ellen McKee.
Calling hours were held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A funeral will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Chris Cutshall officiating. Burial will be held at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Reva’s name to CorsoCare Hospice, 8230 Pittsburg Ave. NW,, North Canton, Ohio 44720 or to the Fresno Bible Church, 24629 SR 93, Fresno, Ohio 43824.
