Angela Chapman's poem reflects on trusting God’s plan and finding purpose in difficult seasons
I'm a child of God, and he's my savior,
And in his arms, I'm secure with favor.
I'm leaning not on my own understanding,
But trusting in God's promises, he's handing.
During trials of many sorts and kinds,
Trusting and faith are my treasure finds.
I have no control over anything.
I'm at the mercy of my king.
God's word is carrying me through life's mishaps,
Soaring on wings as eagles while avoiding schemes and traps.
Witnessing for Christ is what I can do.
It's how I'll not focus on the "noise" but instead on you.
A valley is there for walking but not for one to stay.
It's along the way to glory while walking the pilgrimage way.
There are no lost moments while you're slowing your pace.
It's a time of gaining strength while looking to Jesus' face.
It's a time of reflections and changes needing made.
It's a time of growth and direction from where you once stayed.
Sometimes it takes valleys to realize where we're at.
Maybe we've become too comfortable in our stagnant habitat.
The need for growth is a must,
By stepping out in faith and trust.
God's power and his master plan are revealing
He's the author and finisher of every detail and thing.
Do we want to stay stuck in a place that may stunt our growth?
Or do we want to step out for Jesus in his faith-believing boat?
To win souls for God's kingdom is wise.
It's a calling that cannot be a compromise.
God is the provider, and we're not to worry about the tomorrows.
He's already there, and we're not to eat the bread of sorrows.
Trust, believe that with God all things are possible.
His good plan for you is definitely applaudable.
This story God has been writing has his seal of approval.
He's been in it from the beginning, and his ideas are a novel.
No worries now as you take each God-directed step.
He's holding your hand as you follow his righteousness.
