Robert Euton
Robert “Bob” Euton, age 80, of Coshocton, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Roscoe Gardens. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Robert “Jack” Euton Sr. and Norma (Jewett) Euton. On May 18, 1968, he married Eileen (Tyson) Euton, who survives.
Bob’s strong work ethic was evident throughout his entire life. Following graduation from West Lafayette High school, class of 1963, he began his career in road construction together with his dad at VN Holderman. Helping build portions of the 77 North and 70 West corridors. He later worked at Stone Container while also operating his own truck as an independent driver.
Bob’s most notable career, however, was with the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Department, where he faithfully served for 50 years, eventually rising to Lieutenant of the Communications Division. During his tenure, he played a vital role in establishing the county’s 911 system, helping modernize emergency communication services throughout the community. Dedicated to the safety and well-being of others, Bob was instrumental in implementing tornado warning codes for Coshocton County and worked tirelessly to improve communication technology across multiple departments.
His service extended far beyond his official duties. Bob served as Deputy Director of Disaster Services, Deputy Director of the Northeast District of the Buckeye State Sheriffs Association, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #5 and was an active member of the Tri-Valley CB Radio Club. Passionate about educating others, he devoted countless hours to Safety City and served as an advisor for the Junior Sheriff’s Club, teaching safety, and responsibility to young people throughout the community. He also worked as an EMT with Coshocton County EMS, continuing his lifelong mission of helping others.
When he was not working or volunteering, Bob enjoyed coaching baseball in Conesville for many years. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Guardians, Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State Buckeyes and loved watching NASCAR races. His passion for technology followed him home, where he enjoyed building computers and learning about new advancements. In quieter moments, Bob could often be found relaxing with one of his many dogs over the years while watching an old Western movie.
Along with his wife, Eileen, Bob is survived by his children, Mia (Stephen) Euton-Goldstein of Cleveland, Rob (Lori) Euton of Coshocton and Lance (Maria) Euton of West Lafayette; grandchildren, Max (Nataly) Goldstein, Liam, Jack, George, Oliver and Vivian Goldstein, Erika (Ryan) Adkins, Ciera Adkins, Ryan Schneider, Aidan (Maegan) Euton, Hayden Schneider, Tyson Euton, Brody Seitz, Mykaela (Christian) Euton, Kayla (Joe) Goodwill and Kaitlyn (Tony) Goodwill; five great-grandchildren, with two on the way and numerous other family member and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Euton.
