Don Cassety

Don C. Cassetty, 81, passed away March 4, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of faith, family and community service.

He was preceded in death by his son, Donald E. Cassetty; parents, Chester and Claudine Cassetty; brothers, Ben Cassetty, Tom Cassetty and Harold Cassetty; and brothers-in-law Willis Hench and Jimmy Cook.

Don is survived by his wife of 59-½ years, Rita Cassetty; son Robert (Leslie) Cassetty; grandchildren, Ryan and Ashley Cassetty (Delo Levert); great-granddaughter Xalia; sister Janie Cook; brother Mark Cassetty; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A faithful Christian born Dec. 6, 1944, Don transitioned from this life into eternity after a lifetime marked by profound faith and love.

He served in the Army National Guard for six years before owning and operating the Uniontown Barbershop for more than 54 years.

Don also was a charter member of the Lake Jaycees in 1970, served 14 years as a Lake Township trustee and was a Democratic Central Committee member.

Don was a proud supporter of Lake youth and high school sports organizations and remained connected to the community through his longtime involvement with the Uniontown Lions Club, where he helped organize the annual car show at the Uniontown Festival.

In high school, Don lettered in football and basketball during his senior year and remained an avid sports fan throughout his life. He still owned the original seats he purchased at Lake Stadium when the stadium was built.

In recent years, Don especially enjoyed watching drag racing and cheering on his son Bob from the sidelines as part of Triple C Drag Racing. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, cookouts, watching birds and deer from his patio, and traveling with family following retirement.

Family members said Don led by example as an honest and simple man who treated others with kindness and respect. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
