Walsh University hosts free health clinic
Stark County adults can access screenings April 15-17 in North Canton
Walsh University will host its annual Community Health and Wellness Clinic April 15-17 at the Barrette Business & Community Center on the university’s campus. Appointments begin at 8 a.m. each day, and advance registration is required.
The free event offers adults ages 18 and older a comprehensive health and wellness assessment that includes screenings of movement, strength, balance and vision.
Evaluations will be conducted by students in Walsh’s Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Occupational Therapy and nursing programs under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, occupational therapists and nurses.
Participants will receive immediate feedback, individualized recommendations and referrals to local community resources or health care professionals when appropriate. Returning attendees may also compare this year’s results with previous data to track their wellness progress.
“Our annual clinic embodies Walsh University’s mission to serve others through education and community partnership,” said Dr. Kimberly Cleveland, dean of the College of Health Sciences. “It’s a meaningful way for our students to apply their learning in real-world settings while helping community members take proactive steps toward better health.”
Appointments will take place at the Barrette Business & Community Center, 2020 E. Maple St., North Canton.
Participants are asked to print and complete the clinic appointment intake form before arriving. To schedule an appointment or for additional information, visit walsh.edu/dptclinic or email walshdptclinic@walsh.edu.
