Hartville seeks applicants for open Village Council seat
Council accepts resignation, sets May 22 deadline for letters of intent
At its May 11 meeting, Hartville Village Council accepted the resignation of Councilman Tom Hough, creating an open seat on council. Notification of the opening was to be posted on the village Facebook page, with letters of intent due by May 22.
In other business, council voted to cancel its May 25 meeting because of the Memorial Day holiday.
Following discussion, council authorized the mayor to sign a contract with the Stark County Health Department for mosquito spraying.
In the absence of Police Chief Kevin Moore, Lt. Rob Wittensoldner presented the police report.
Village Engineer Samer Awadallah presented his report.
Council also authorized the mayor to sign an agreement with the Stark County Park District for the Trailway lease agreement.
Council passed several pieces of legislation, none by emergency measure.
Councilman Tim Hayden was absent.
Mayor Cynthia Billings offered the invocation.
The next regular meeting of Hartville Village Council will be held in person Monday, June 8, at 6:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 202 W. Maple St. The meeting also will be livestreamed on Facebook.
