Lake Township Board of Zoning Appeals hears variance requests
Board tables one request, approves three; next meeting set for May 21
At a public hearing April 23, the Lake Township Board of Zoning Appeals tabled a request by applicant Marlin Troyer and property owners Steven and Elizabeth Oakland for a variance to locate an accessory structure in the front yard at 22 East Bay Circle NE in a low-density residential (R-1) zone.
The board approved a request by applicant and property owner Anatolly Torchilo for an area variance for minimum front and rear yard setbacks at 3979 Northdale St. NE in an R-1 zone.
The board also approved a request by applicant and property owner Mitchell Race for an area variance for maximum driveway width at 11828 William Penn Ave. in an R-1 zone.
In addition, the board approved a request by applicants and property owners Todd and Deanna Schlabach for a conditional use for a bed-and-breakfast homestay at 12828 Primrose Drive NE in an R-1 zone.
Board member Bob Cappelli was absent.
The next meeting of the Board of Zoning Appeals will be held May 21 at 7 p.m. at Township Hall, 12360 Market Ave. North. Meetings are open to the public.
The board consists of five members and one alternate appointed by the Lake Township Trustees. It hears and decides appeals, authorizes variance requests, and issues or revokes conditional zoning certificates. Those wishing to speak at hearings must take an oath or affirmation and state their name and address for the record. Decisions of the board are final but may be appealed to the Stark County Court of Common Pleas.
