Walsh University announced the 2026 Cavalier Soirée Dinner and Auction raised more than $250,000 to support students facing financial hardship, surpassing this year’s goal and bringing the five-year fundraising total to more than $800,000.
The event, held at Hoover Park Lodge and hosted by President Tim Collins and Drenda Collins, welcomed the highest attendance in the fundraiser’s history, marking a 70% increase since the event began four years ago.
The evening featured dinner, raffles, silent and live auctions, and opportunities for attendees to sponsor magnolias symbolizing a commitment to helping students succeed.
“This year’s Soirée demonstrated what’s possible when a community comes together with a shared purpose,” said Dr. Eric Constant, vice president of philanthropy. “Every gift represents a student who can stay enrolled, overcome financial barriers and continue pursuing their calling.”
“The momentum we’re seeing — both in generosity and engagement — speaks volumes about the strength of the Walsh University mission and the people who believe in it,” said President Tim Collins. “The university is deeply grateful for the growing support that ensures we can keep students who have experienced an unexpected shock to their situation on the path to serving others. The Soirée has helped more than 120 students stay in school.”
Sponsors included Huntington Bank, the Young Family Foundation, Standard Printing and the Didado Family Foundation, along with numerous donors, board members, friends of the university, staff members and student volunteers.
Walsh University also announced the 2027 Cavalier Soirée will be held Friday, May 14, 2027.
