Stark Parks announced the approval of its new 10-year comprehensive plan, along with a refreshed mission statement to guide the organization through the next decade.

The plan outlines a strategic vision for the future of Stark Parks, focusing on conservation, connectivity, community engagement and long-term sustainability. Developed through public input, stakeholder engagement and staff collaboration, the plan reflects the needs of Stark County residents while positioning the park district for continued growth.

At the heart of the plan is Stark Parks’ new mission statement: “To enrich the quality of life in Stark County by conserving and connecting our natural and cultural resources, while providing meaningful recreation and education opportunities that bring value to everyone in our community.”

“This plan represents a roadmap for the future of Stark Parks,” said Executive Director Dan Moeglin. “It builds on our strong foundation while challenging us to think creatively about how we serve our community, protect our natural resources and expand access to parks and programs for all.”

Key focus areas of the plan include investing in park infrastructure and visitor amenities, expanding trail connectivity, preserving natural habitats, increasing access to recreation and educational programming, and strengthening partnerships and community engagement.

The plan will guide decision-making, investments and initiatives over the next decade. For more information, visit StarkParks.com/plan.
