Christians must boldly live out biblical truth because Christ is King

Our triune God — the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit — is King. Period. He is worthy of worship based on his perfect goodness, holiness, love and all of his communicable and incommunicable attributes.

He is worthy and deserving of obedience. Whether he is obeyed or not, God commands all people — unbelievers and believers alike — to worship, live for, love and glorify him.

His word, the Bible, is clear on these issues. It is clear on what God deems righteous and unrighteous behavior. The Bible is clear on what beauty is and is not, who men are, who women are and what their gender-specific roles are.

God holds authority in the heavens; every planet is where it should be. In the microverse, God holds sway over every protozoa, atom and the subatomic realm. His judgments are right. God’s righteousness is pure. God’s gospel is exclusively perfect.

Second Corinthians 5:21 states: “He (God) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

He makes evident his truth in his word and in his creation. Jesus made himself crystal clear in Matthew 28:18: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.’”

Knowing this, we should be about the business of growing in grace, standing against wickedness, discipling our families, ensuring our churches are biblical while being fully involved in the local biblical church and so on.

Christian, why are we so afraid, so hesitant? Perfect love casts out fear. You owe nothing to evil, but everything to the one who saved you. Christ is King, and we walk in his authority — not pridefully, but humbly, knowing that we serve him and that he is the one to be pleased.

Let us be about the business of glorifying God despite the consequences for his glory. He is over all things, over all people, over all governments, over our emotions, over our lives — over all — and he rules righteously. Trust Jesus in all of his authority. He is Lord.
