Sandy Valley names Balderson principal
Balderson currently serves as the district’s athletic director and assistant principal
Sandy Valley Local School District has named Beau Balderson as Sandy Valley High School principal for the 2026-27 school year.
Balderson currently serves as the district’s athletic director and assistant principal.
“We are pleased to announce Beau Balderson as the new Sandy Valley High School principal for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year,” Superintendent Matt Whitted said. “We are confident that Beau will be an exceptional leader for our high school and school community. His experience, leadership and dedication to our Cardinals make him a great fit for this role.”
Balderson said he is looking forward to the opportunity.
“I am honored and excited to accept the position of Sandy Valley High School principal,” Balderson said. “I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the staff, students and community, and I look forward to continuing to represent Sandy Valley in this new role. SV is an outstanding district, and I am excited to continue building on the strong traditions and culture already in place.”
During his two years as athletic director, Balderson helped strengthen athletic scheduling, improve facility and building usage, support athletic and community events and assist in launching the Northeast Senate League, which will begin in 2028.
Before joining Sandy Valley, Balderson spent 24 years in education, primarily as a high school social studies teacher and coach. He served as head football coach at Jackson Local, Marlington, Southeast, Parma and GlenOak, while also coaching several other sports.
Current Sandy Valley High School Principal Alivia Stamp has accepted a position with the Stark County Educational Service Center.
“We wish Mrs. Stamp the very best as she continues her career and shares her expertise with school districts throughout Stark County,” Whitted said.
Stamp said she believes the high school is in good hands.
“We are excited for Beau to lead the high school, and we know he will continue the great traditions while building positive relationships,” Stamp said. “I am incredibly grateful for my time at Sandy Valley and for the support, kindness and dedication shown by the students, staff, families and Cardinal community. It has truly been an honor to be the SVHS principal, and I know the high school will continue to thrive under Beau’s leadership.”
