They’re Coming to Take Me Away
Weekly Blessing
He's our king and our savior
Angela Chapman's poem reflects on salvation, prayer and the love of God
The wind blows on the willow tree, their purpose defines,
The direction of each is how the master refines.
The wind is blowing there but comes unannounced.
The master who sees makes his way with a trumpet announced.
Preparing one's heart is a wise and present thing to do,
Not waiting because today is the day of salvation for you.
We can discern the times of seasons by observing.
We know the day is coming when the Lord will be descending.
The Word of God teaches us to stay alert,
To not be caught sleeping in this world of cruel hurt.
Not to be sleeping means to be praying and praising,
To heed to God's instructions as wars are escalating.
To be enjoying wealth by enjoying worldly pleasures
Means you're sleeping with no oil in your lamp's vestures.
You may get caught off guard, and that's not wise.
Don't play with your soul with an attitude of compromise.
You can prepare now while you have your being.
Come to the cross of Christ, where forgiveness is revealing.
Be washed clean in the blood of Christ,
Only by Jesus — the way, the truth and the life.
Don't allow anything to get in your way.
You don't know if your soul will be required of you this day.
To be forgiven of your sins, you must confess and repent,
But only to Jesus Christ, the beloved Son God sent.
Jesus went to the cross and was crucified, don't you know?
It was there at the cross where all sin had to go.
Jesus accomplished this work, a gift like no other.
It was paid with a price that glorified the Father.
God's plan is for all to be clean,
Washed in the blood that can only redeem.
Your life is very precious that God gave to you.
You have a choice to believe in Jesus, who makes all things new.
Eternal salvation is what you need.
You don't have to beg; you don't have to plead.
Your loving savior did it all for you.
You need only to ask, there's nothing more to do.
The cross is about a relationship being restored,
The one between God and man that would not be ignored.
God's love is greater than our eyes can see.
God made a way to guarantee a victory.
You do have to choose, the world or the cross.
One is an eternal win while the other an eternal loss.
The cross gives great peace, forgiveness and restoration.
The world gives a temporary feeling that fades with corruption.
Jesus is our lifeline always.
He hears when your sincere heart prays.
Safe and abiding and ready you'll be,
With Jesus, and no more tears you'll ever see.
You'll enter heaven's portal with great peace,
The kind that's everlasting and will never cease.
To have a home that's eternally secure,
Bought and paid for by the Lamb — perfect and pure.
For us, Jesus loved and took our place,
While taking our sins' debt and replacing with grace.
To ensure our salvation with tender care,
He's our king and our savior who made us an heir.
