Garaway softball has record-setting win
Krista Miller broke two career records, True Tango set a season mark and Dennis Koshmider earned his 250th win
Garaway defeated Hiland 13-5 in tournament softball action, advancing in tournament play as coach Dennis Koshmider recorded his 250th career win.
In the win, Krista Miller set the program’s career hits record by going 4-for-4. Miller’s 141 career hits broke the previous record held by three-time All-Ohioan Anya Misko. Miller also hit two triples in the game and broke the program’s career triples record with her 13th. The previous mark was held by Alex Numbers.
True Tango’s first-inning triple set a new program record for triples in a season with eight. That record also was held by Numbers.
Garaway also set a new single-season team record for total hits with 328. The previous record was set in 2017.
Miller also crushed a pair of home runs to help Garaway move past West Holmes 9-2 on the Lady Pirates' senior night May 9.
