Millersburg logger earns top state forestry honor
Nisley named Outstanding Logger of the Year
The Ohio Forestry Association (OFA) recently held its annual meeting and awards luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Columbus. Loggers, hardwood manufacturers, forestry professionals and tree farmers from across the state gathered to hear important industry updates and present outstanding service awards. Top of mind for attendees was the varying perspectives on the current state of the hardwood industry as well as exports of wood products.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the presentation of industry awards. OFA’s highest honor is reserved for the Outstanding Logger of the Year, and Dennis Nisley of Millcreek Lumber in Millersburg was named for 2025. Nisley has built a reputation for emphasizing safety protocols for loggers and long-term forest health. His activity within the forestry community has helped bolster business management, forest management and regulatory communications that have impacted every aspect of the industry, from small family business operation to deep into the woods.
