Holmes County seniors offered legal help
Free clinic will include wills, powers of attorney and real estate affidavits
Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio will hold a free event to help low-income Holmes County seniors age 60 and older prepare wills and related paperwork.
Attorneys can prepare wills, transfer on death affidavits for real estate, and financial and health care powers of attorney. Transfer on death affidavits for real estate allow people to pass on their homes to their children without going through probate.
Clinic attendees will be able to meet with a lawyer for free and receive advice in these areas. Signing up ahead of time is required. Eligible individuals who would like an appointment can call Candice at 614-737-0121.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon July 15 at the Darb Snyder Senior Center, 170 Parkview Drive, Millersburg.
Local attorneys who would like to volunteer during the event can email probono@lasco.org.
