Wayne County track and field athletes advance to state

In the northeast multiple area track and field athletes advanced out of regionals held in North Royalton (Division II), Austintown (Divs. III and IV) and Cuyahoga Heights (Div. V). Leading the way were Norwayne, Smithville, Dalton, Hillsdale and Rittman across the board, as all the focus comes down to one more major event: state.

Boys

Div. II North Royalton Regional state qualifiers

—Wooster: Kaj Meier, 400.

Div. III Austintown Regional state qualifiers

—Orrville: Owen Lacy, 1,600 and 3,200; Bronson Rogers, 300 hurdles; Caden Race, pole vault; Tate Howell, shot put; Mark Lorson, high jump and long jump; and Keenan Pertee, pole vault.

Div. IV Austintown Regional state qualifiers

—Chippewa: Camden Hall, 110 hurdles, and Ian Goodrich, pole vault.
