Frank W. Hoover, 91, of Shreve, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Frank lived a full life, finding happiness in dancing, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, horseback riding, and time spent outdoors. Known for his kindness, generosity, and warm spirit, he brought comfort and laughter to those around him.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a tank commander. A graduate and former King of Shreve High School, he founded Frank W. Hoover Supply and Cherokee Drilling. He was a Mason, a Shriner, and a dedicated member of Bethany Baptist Church, where he rebuilt the steeple with the help of friends.

Frank was a devoted husband of 73 years to his beloved wife, Mary, and a loving father to Heidi and Stacy. He expressed his love through constant care, generosity, and quiet acts of giving.

He will be remembered for his gentle humor, his whistling, and the many lives he touched—a man many would describe as “a prince of a guy.”

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend the burial service on Sunday, April 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Moreland Cemetery, 198 E. Moreland Road, Wooster, Ohio. A Gathering of Remembrance will follow from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 246 North Market Street, Wooster, Ohio, where all are welcome to join in remembering and honoring Frank.
