Corinne Elizabeth Rickabaugh, age 90, of Shreve, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, with her family by her side.
Corinne was born to Joseph and Elizabeth (Renszel) Meggyesy on January 8, 1936. After losing her mother at age 6, she was raised by stepmother, Elda (Spinosa) Meggyesy. She graduated from Solon High School in 1954 and St. Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in 1957 as a registered nurse. While visiting Wayne County for a square dance, she met Earl Dean Rickabaugh and they were married on November 22, 1958, at Blachleyville Church of Christ, where she was an active member for over 60 years. She lived a full life founded on faith, family, and deep love for nature and all living things.

She is survived by her husband, Earl; her daughters, Mary Beth (Tim) Garrity, Amy (Chuck) Cline, and Rebecca Rickabaugh; grandchildren, Meredith (Chad Honey), Jonathan, & Colin Merklin, Sara-Ann (Josh) Mathias, Emily (Corey Johnson) Cline, and Benjamin Niedzielski; brothers David (Carolyn Silk), Tom, Denny (Cheryl), and Joe (Pam) Meggyesy; sisters-in-law, Vicki Meggyesy and Flora-Jane Winkler; as well as her cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Corinne was preceded in death by her parents, brother Roger Meggyesy, sister-in-law Elaine Meggyesy, and brother-in-law Ken Winkler.
Over her life she was a member of Plain Twp Homemakers, Ohio Cattlewomen, Farm Bureau, and Shreve Friends of Library to name a few.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shreve branch of the Wayne County Public Library or Western Reserve Land Conservancy.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 8 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Schlabach Funeral Home, 212 Jones St., Shreve. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Blachleyville Church of Christ, 8482 Blachleyville Rd, Wooster, with Pastor Dan Kirtlan officiating. Burial will follow at Blachleyville Cemetery.
