Georgia Mae Wackerly
Georgia Mae Wackerly, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on April 11, 2026. She was born on July 29, 1930 to the late Wayne and Mary Austin.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wackerly, Sr.; son, Paul Wackerly, Jr.; twin daughters, Sharon Kay and Vicki Lynn; sisters, Opal Zimmer and Jackie Austin; and great-granddaughter, Sasha Bullard.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Mary Ann (Dave) Fulks; son, Robert Wackerly; daughter, Julie (Clint) Marshall; daughter-in-law, Sue Wackerly; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Austin; and many nieces and nephews.
Georgia was a longtime member of Canton Baptist Temple. Georgia enjoyed golfing, singing, crocheting, dancing, and most of all being with her family. Although she had dementia, she could always quote her life's verse: Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." She was a faithful witness, encourager, and always would say "God bless you" to everyone. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Services were held Thursday, April 16, 2026, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel with Rev. Jake Tovissi officiating. The family received guests two hours prior to the service from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial followed at Forest Hill Cemetery.
