James R. Cash Jr.
James R. “Jim” Cash, Jr., 73 of Hopedale, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at his home with his family. Jim was born June 5, 1952, in Steubenville, Ohio a son of the late James R. and Agnes Kirk Cash, Sr.
Jim attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bridgeport, Ohio. He was a retired maintenance foreman for the former Consolidation Coal Company. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Hopedale American Legion. He was Past Worthy Patron of Unionport Eastern Star and a member of Unionport Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville and Osiris Shrine in Elm Grove, West Virginia.
Jim was a diehard Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan. He loved fishing, hunting, working on the farm and making memories with his family.
in addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sisters, Bettie Rae Mattern and Bonnie Smith.
Surviving are his wife, Freda L. Funari Cash, they would have celebrated 46 years of marriage on May 17th; his son, James R. “J.R.” (Allison) Cash of Hopedale; his daughter, Megan (Howard Hahn) Weber of Canal Winchester, Ohio; three grandchildren: Victoria “Tori” (“Ti” Starcher) Cash, Avery Cash and Ian Cash; Layla Hahn; and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 2-7 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz with his funeral service to follow on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor James Woods officiating. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio. Masonic Service held on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. in the funeral home immediately followed by the Eastern Star service.
