Volunteers sought for Operation Christmas Child effort
Volunteers serve year-round to recruit and train participants and coordinate the collection of shoebox gifts
The Ohio East Area Team is inviting volunteers to serve in promoting Operation Christmas Child in Holmes, Tuscarawas, Carroll, Harrison and Coshocton counties.
Volunteers serve year-round to recruit and train participants and coordinate the collection of shoebox gifts. Opportunities are available for leaders, prayer team members, and individuals with skills in logistics, administration and communication.
Participants help share the message of the Gospel as shoebox gifts and “The Greatest Gift” booklet are delivered to children in more than 100 countries. Volunteers also support follow-up discipleship through “The Greatest Journey” 12-lesson program and contribute to outreach efforts impacting families and communities worldwide.
Volunteer roles include:
Church relations, building partnerships with congregations and encouraging participation.
Logistics, supporting and expanding shoebox collection efforts and maintaining accurate reporting.
Community relations, engaging businesses and civic groups, speaking at events and promoting the project locally.
Prayer team, recruiting members, sharing prayer needs and encouraging support through churches and community gatherings.
Administrative support, managing data, responding to inquiries and maintaining team records.
Media support, working with local print and radio outlets, sharing stories and helping promote community involvement.
