Deersville VFD receives $10,000 grant for UTV
The public is invited to see the vehicle at the Deersville CVFD annual Fireman’s Fair
Members of the Deersville Community Volunteer Fire Department met with Sheila Hurley, executive director of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy Foundation, to accept a $10,000 grant from the foundation toward the cost of the department’s new 2026 Can-Am Defender 6x6 UTV.
The department put the new UTV into service March 10, and it already has responded to six calls.
The UTV is equipped for brush fires and EMS rescue operations. The public is invited to see the vehicle at the Deersville CVFD annual Fireman’s Fair from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 23.
The fair will include food, raffles, a parade at 3 p.m., a firefighters water battle following the parade, a bounce house and more.
