The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced troopers will conduct statewide OVI checkpoints Saturday, May 16, to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

The counties where the checkpoints will take place will be announced the day before the checkpoints, and locations will be announced the morning of the checkpoints.

Those who plan to consume alcohol are encouraged to designate a sober driver or make other travel arrangements before drinking.

Operational support for the statewide checkpoints will be provided by local law enforcement agencies.
