Weekly Blessing

The Lord will have your back

Columnist Angela Chapman encourages believers to trust Jesus through calm seas and choppy waves

The sails are ready to glide the waves.

The sun is shining as freedom craves.

The boat is no longer docked but untied,

Ready to sail in waters unsupervised.

The sky is clear with only a few clouds.

The weather is perfect with no large crowds.

It's time to go and sail the deep,

In faith, believing with one giant leap.

With Jesus as the master, you can't go wrong.

His direction will carry with every life song.

There's no need for discretion, Jesus sees ahead;

He already knows where you're being led.

The gentle breezes will be your peace.

You'll never lack, for his love won't cease.

Provisions also are taken care of.

He's the Lord with a heart full of love.

There are places to go and work to be done,

For Jesus is the ministry; it's all about God's Son.

Now there are many vessels across this sea,

All being led by the one who sets captives free.

There may be some choppy waves and smooth sailing,

But the Lord sees it all, as his goodness is trailing.

The weather conditions are right as God says, "Go!"

His hand of protection covers the seed you sow.

Life to the full is what Jesus gives,

To every believer declaring, "Jesus lives!"

It's a good plan God has for you.

It's a worry-free adventure with lots to do.

Faith and trust are what it takes,

To reach your goal with the armor it makes.

The shore will be in view and always visible,

Even on days when cloudy weather may be miserable.

I love that the Lord never leaves.

Quietness and confidence each soul receives.

Strength for the journey to meet every need,

As we read the Bible, with every promise we heed.

Get ready for adventure — no need to fear.

The Lord will guide you; he won't be far but near.

Don't worry about your steps; you're on the right track.

And the Lord, whom you love, will always have your back.
