Romich Foundation Makerspace supports Wayne County nonprofits
Makerspace provides donated products, materials and equipment access
The Romich Foundation Makerspace continues to support nonprofit organizations across Wayne County through donated products, custom-designed materials and access to specialized equipment used to create a wide range of community projects.
Located in Creston, the foundation works with dozens of organizations throughout the county to produce custom items, including plaques, signs, trophies, educational materials, commemorative products and other specialty pieces.
According to Makerspace Manager Izabel Meshew, the makerspace collaborated with approximately 90 nonprofit organizations and produced more than 100,000 unique items during 2024 and 2025.
“If the organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we can donate at no charge,” said Meshew. “However, we can still work with for-profit organizations or individuals.”
Among the projects recently completed by the makerspace were commemorative coins and heritage tree plaques distributed during Wayne County America 250 events. During a recent visit to the facility, the Wayne County commissioners presented the Romich Foundation with a letter of recognition acknowledging its contributions to local programs and its continued support of students and nonprofit organizations throughout the county.
“The Romich Foundation Makerspace has played an important role in our community by designing and producing commemorative coins and heritage tree plaques that honor local history while supporting organizations throughout Wayne County,” said Commissioner Matt Martin. “Their continued support of students and nonprofit organizations reflects a strong commitment to service, education and innovation.”
