Veterans roundtable set at Long Military Museum
Free May 20 event will give local veterans a platform to share their stories
The Wayne County Historical Society and the Long Military Museum will host the Ed Arn Veterans Roundtable at 7 p.m. May 20 at the Long Military Museum, 334 E. South St., Wooster.
The event will feature Iraq and Afghanistan veterans sharing their experiences and challenges. The museum will open at 5 p.m. before the program for touring.
The roundtable honors Ed Arn, a longtime Wooster resident and veteran who lived from 1908-2006. Arn earned a Silver Star with cluster and Purple Heart with cluster while serving in the European Theater.
The program is designed to provide a platform for local veterans to tell their stories, with a particular focus on those who have maintained a low profile regarding their military service. Past discussions have highlighted stories from veterans who served in combat, including helicopter tail gunners and medics.
The event was organized by Wooster attorney Jeff Musselman in collaboration with the Wayne County Historical Society and the Long Military Museum. After a one-year hiatus, the roundtable is returning as a recurring program scheduled in May before Memorial Day weekend.
The event is free and open to the public and is intended to foster community understanding of the experiences of those who served.
