West Holmes FFA wraps up a busy year of activity
Chapter members volunteered at Nashville and Loudonville events while dairy judging and floriculture teams competed in regional and state contests
On April 24 the West Holmes FFA Chapter volunteered time at the Nashville Fun Fair. The chapter sent members Mia Spencer, Una Holasek, Cameron Hinton, Emily Manges, Emma Eberhard and Courtney Crider to support the effort. The members helped run games throughout the night. The members enjoyed their time spent helping the Nashville School.
On March 14 the West Holmes FFA Chapter sent its dairy judging team to Miami Trace. During dairy judging contestants placed dairy cows, took a test over general dairy knowledge, read pedigrees and completed a sire selection scenario.
The dairy team placed 11th out of 21 teams. Individually, Reece Anderson was first, Emma McDonnell was 27th and Taylor McDonnell was 47th.
On April 13 the West Holmes FFA Chapter competed in the State Floriculture Contest at the Pickaway County Fairgrounds. During the contest participants created a bud vase, potted young plants, took an online test, and identified plants and gardening equipment.
The team placed 61st in the state and 13th in the district. Individually, Madison Ringwalt was 90th, and Mia Spencer was 117th. There were 69 teams and 252 individuals in the contest.
On March 4 several members of the West Holmes FFA Chapter helped with Loudonville Equity Customer Appreciation Day. Participating members included Mia Spencer, Cameron Hinton, Taylor McDonnell and Emma McDonnell. Taylor McDonnell and Emma McDonnell helped set up tables and chairs. Cameron Hinton and Mia Spencer helped serve food and clean tables.
Thanks to the Equity for including us on this day.
