Bake sale, chicken fundraiser planned in Shreve
Annual event supports County Line Historical Society of Wayne/Holmes
The County Line Historical Society of Wayne/Holmes will hold its annual spring Wayne County Fair-style BBQ chicken drive-thru and bake sale June 6 during the community-wide garage sales in Shreve.
Proceeds will support the maintenance and operation of the society’s museum, which collects and preserves local history.
Sales will begin at 10:30 a.m. and continue until sold out. Half-chicken meals will be available for $12 and include green beans and ham, applesauce, roll and butter. For only half a chicken, the cost is $8.
The drive-thru chicken sale will be held at Shreve Auto Repair, formerly Shreve Mobil, 298 N. Market St., Shreve. Those attending should enter the drive-thru from Robinson Street. Cash, Venmo and good checks will be accepted.
The bake sale will be held at 281 N. Market St., across from the drive-thru chicken sale. Bake sale items will be available by donation only.
