Carroll County students visit Statehouse
The Carroll County Off-Site Court Student Ambassadors visited Columbus
The Carroll County Off-Site Court Student Ambassadors visited Columbus to attend a House session, tour the Ohio Statehouse and visit the Supreme Court of Ohio courtroom.
Students also met with state Rep. Monica Robb Blasdel, R-New Waterford, to ask questions about state government and the legislative process. They also participated in special programming focused on careers in law and civic engagement.
Students participating in the visit were Kaitlyn Adey, Ryan Barnett, Cooper Becknell, Joshua Hossler, Gracen Modranski, Emma Nicholas, Eva Nicholas, Ani Ruggieri, Troy Rutledge and Berlyn Zimmerman.
Faculty chaperones were Angela Ruggieri and Marci Folk.
“Meeting with these outstanding student ambassadors and discussing their interest in government, the courts, and public service was a wonderful experience,” Robb Blasdel said. “Programs like the Off-Site Court initiative help encourage the next generation of civic leaders here in Ohio.”
Robb Blasdel encourages other community groups interested in meeting with her, visiting the Ohio Statehouse or visiting other locations on Capitol Square to reach out.
