Carroll Electric announces winners of 2026 scholarship contest
Carroll Electric’s panel of independent judges awarded five $1,000 scholarships to graduating Carrollton High School seniors
After interviewing a total of 19 applicants, Carroll Electric’s panel of independent judges awarded five $1,000 Children of Members scholarships to graduating Carrollton High School seniors whose parents or guardians are Carroll Electric members.
Hunter Allison was selected as the first-place winner, qualifying him to compete in the statewide contest against representatives from Ohio’s 24 other electric cooperatives for a chance to win additional scholarships up to $4,600. He was awarded an additional $2,300 at the statewide competition.
Hunter is the son of Michael and Casey Allison. Upon graduating from Carrollton High School, he plans to attend Wittenberg University and major in pre-medicine.
Other recipients include Allie Huffman, daughter of Brandon and Heather Huffman, who plans to major in criminal justice studies at Kent State University at Stark; Alli Reynolds, daughter of James and Sarah Reynolds, who plans to major in nursing and attend either the University of Mount Union, Aultman College of Nursing or Kent State University at Stark; Railey Macke, daughter of Adam and Wendy Macke, who plans to major in biology and attend either John Carroll University, The Ohio State University, Kent State University or Case Western Reserve University; and Lily Marteney, daughter of Jason and Tara Marteney, who plans to major in biology or pre-veterinary and attend either John Carroll University, The Ohio State University, the University of Findlay, Ohio Northern University or Ohio University.
