CHS graduates inducted into 2026 Alumni Hall of Fame
The 2026 inductees were introduced by Steven Barnett, a past Carrollton Schools Academic Foundation president, who served as master of ceremonies
Four Carrollton High School graduates who have distinguished themselves in their professions were inducted into the Carrollton Schools Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame at a banquet and program Friday, May 1, in the Carrollton High School Performing Arts Center.
The 2026 inductees were introduced by Steven Barnett, a past Carrollton Schools Academic Foundation president, who served as master of ceremonies.
They included:
Fred H. Barnett Jr. of Mechanicstown, Class of 1969, a longtime chief of the Fox Township Volunteer Fire Department with more than 50 years as a firefighter, who was honored for community service and nominated by his father, Steven D. Barnett.
Dr. Ronald Alvin Stewart of Mexico, Class of 1983, honored as an educator, consultant and advocate for health and aging, nominated by Tamara Henry-Bryan.
Amy Curry Sturm of Lewis Center, Class of 1994, who has distinguished herself in health, science, medical education and research through her career as a genetic counselor and leader in genomic health care, nominated by Ellyn Dunlap.
Craig L. Winters of Carrollton, Class of 1965, who devoted his career to education and student development, serving as a teacher, principal and coach, nominated by Jackie DeWitt.
The program opened with a welcome by Steven Barnett and the singing of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” led by Courtney Rinehart with piano accompaniment by Ellyn Dunlap. The program also honored the past 86 inductees and included the induction of the 2026 Hall of Fame members.
Closing remarks were given by Susan Arbogast Cogan, who encouraged future nominations of CHS graduates for the honor. Nominations are due by Nov. 30 each year.
The event was attended by about 100 people, and the meal was prepared and served by members of the cafeteria staff.
