The Waynesburg Free Will Baptist Church will host its 75th annual National Day of Prayer, based on 1 Chronicles 16:24, Thursday, May 7, at 5 p.m. at 8600 Waynesburg Drive NE, Waynesburg.

This year’s theme is “Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in All Generations.”

Sponsored by the National Day of Prayer Task Force, the Free Will Baptist congregation and the National Day of Prayer team from Waynesburg and surrounding counties, the event will include Prayer Warriors, experienced team speakers and musicians of all styles of praise music.

Dale D. Matics, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away peacefully at Centreville Village in Carrollton on Monday evening, April 13, 2026. Dale was born Nov. 29, 1935, the eldest son of Jarrett and Tillie (Peterson) Matics. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Evelyn, Nancy and Larry.
