Gardening program set for May 7 in Minerva

The session will focus on how to grow vegetables using raised beds and containers

Organizers say raised beds offer a manageable way to garden in smaller spaces and allow for more intensive growing.

A program on gardening in raised beds and containers will be held Thursday, May 7, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Minerva Public Library, 677 Lynnwood Drive, Minerva.

The session will focus on how to grow vegetables using raised beds and containers, including information on building materials, site selection, soil and fertilizer and plant selection for different types of containers.

Organizers say raised beds offer a manageable way to garden in smaller spaces and allow for more intensive growing.

The program is free and open to the public. Reservations are requested by calling the Minerva Public Library at 330-868-4101.

The event is sponsored by Ohio State University Extension of Carroll County and the Minerva Public Library.
