CHS prom set for Saturday evening
Crowning of the queen and king is scheduled for 7 p.m., followed by a catered dinner

“Be Our Guest,” inspired by “Beauty and the Beast,” is the theme of Carrollton High School’s junior-senior prom Saturday, April 25 at the high school, beginning with a promenade at 5:30 p.m.
Crowning of the queen and king is scheduled for 7 p.m., followed by a catered dinner provided by Jimmy’s Backyard BBQ at 7:15 p.m. Dancing will be held in the high school gym from 8-10 p.m.
The senior court includes Kearsten Ball, Mackenzie Fry, Lilly Marteney, Chelsea Pesta, Maddi Power, Hunter Allison, Alex Carlisle, Isaac Husted, Tanner Johnston and Hayden Thomas.
Dallak Paulette, son of Nicole and Aaron Paulette, and Emma Eddy, daughter of Michelle and Jason Eddy, will reign as the junior prince and princess.
Queen Candidates
— Kearsten Ball, daughter of Angela and Shane Ball, is a member of the softball team, CHS Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, National Honor Society, Academic Hall of Fame, Spanish Club and FFA. She plans to attend Stark State College and major in dental hygiene.
— Mackenzie Fry, daughter of Angie and Jarron Fry, is a member of National Honor Society, the track and field team and Academic Hall of Fame. Her future plans are to attend college and major in dental hygiene.
— Lilly Marteney, daughter of Tara and Jason Marteney, is a competitive dancer at Misty Karlen’s and a member of danceline, concert band, Youth to Youth, 4-H, elementary mentoring, Student Council, National Honor Society, Chamber Chorus and Mount Pleasant Methodist Church. She also serves as class president.
She plans to attend Wittenberg University as a biology major on the pre-med track to become a pediatrician while also cheering in college.
— Chelsea Pesta, daughter of Kathy and Dan Pesta, serves as captain of the soccer team and is a member of CHS Club, Youth to Youth and National Honor Society. She plans to attend Stark State College and major in dental hygiene.
— Maddi Power, daughter of Jaclyn and Scott Power, is a member of the volleyball and soccer teams, CHS Club, National Honor Society and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Her future plans are to attend the University of Mount Union and major in exercise science to become a physician assistant.
King Candidates
— Hunter Allison, son of Michael and Casey Allison, is a member of 4-H, class vice president, National Honor Society, travel baseball, varsity football, varsity basketball and varsity baseball. Hunter plans to attend Wittenberg University as a biochemistry major on the pre-med track to become an anesthesiologist while also playing baseball in college.
— Alex Carlisle, son of Donenen Carlisle, is a member of the football, basketball and track teams. His future plans are to pursue a career in aviation.
— Isaac Husted, son of Deanna and Chris Husted, is a member of the football, basketball and baseball teams, National Honor Society and Academic Hall of Fame. He plans to attend the University of Akron and major in civil engineering while continuing his baseball career in college.
— Tanner Johnston, son of Alesha and Marcus Johnston, is a member of the Drug Free Club, Buckeye Career Center lineman and electrical program and is senior captain of the CHS football team. His future plans are to become a lineman.
— Hayden Thomas, son of Melanie and Shane Thomas, is a member of Faith Family Church, Drug Free Club, football team senior captain, track and men’s volleyball teams, and Academic Hall of Fame at Buckeye Career Center. He plans to work for the Carrollton Fire Department while continuing his education at Stark State College to become a full-time firefighter and paramedic.
