Buckeye Foundation to award scholarships to 27 BCC seniors
Since its founding in 1998, the Buckeye Foundation has awarded more than $1,111,200 in scholarships
A select group of Buckeye Career Center students is being recognized as recipients of Buckeye Career Center Foundation scholarships. The 27 seniors will be honored during the annual Buckeye Foundation Awards Ceremony May 13 at Buckeye Career Center. This year’s recipients represent 17 Buckeye labs and 12 schools.
Foundation President Kimberly Hobart Fleming said the scholarships are unique because they may be used for more than higher education.
“We are one of the very few scholarships that can be used for tools of their trade or adult vocational education,” Fleming said.
The scholarships are funded through community contributions. Each of the 27 students will receive a $2,500 scholarship.
The 2026 scholarship recipients are Madison Harmon, business and marketing, Claymont; Deliliah Williams, exercise science, Conotton Valley; Kory Yoder, electrical systems technology, Garaway; Logan McPeek, business and marketing, Indian Valley; Allison Halsey, landscaping, Newcomerstown; Gage Moore, auto technology, Strasburg; Adriana Rorrer, business and marketing, Tusky Valley; Addison Sundheimer, teaching professions, Strasburg; Olivia Spidell, fire/EMS technology, Strasburg; Bailey Winkhart, teaching professions, Tusky Valley; Alli Reynolds, intro to nursing, Carrollton; Taylor Edie, intro to nursing, Conotton Valley; Emily Zurfley, cosmetology, Dover; Rebekah Fockler, intro to nursing, Dover; Adalia VanArsdalen, cosmetology, New Philadelphia; Hayden Thomas, fire/EMS technology, Carrollton; Gabryella Ferren, cosmetology, Carrollton; Zoey Campbell, PLTW, Conotton Valley; Brady Miller, HVAC-R, Garaway; Zoe Jump, exercise science, Garaway; Kyler Vosick, energy operations and utility lineworker, Indian Valley; Jacoby Tedrow, fire/EMS technology, Newcomerstown; Caitlyn Kaser, pharmacy technician, New Philadelphia; Landon LaBiche, intro to nursing, New Philadelphia; Maya Fierbaugh, culinary arts, Strasburg; Gino Tozzi, HVAC-R and electrical systems technology, Sandy Valley; and Broden Supers, precision machining and CAD, Tuscarawas Central Catholic.
Hilscher-Clarke will be recognized with the Spotlight Award for its continued support of Buckeye Career Center and its students. The company, which began more than 100 years ago, provides electrical engineering and construction services in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana and West Virginia. School officials said Hilscher-Clarke has employed more than 20 BCC students during the current school year, while several alumni also work for the company.
Jason Geraghty has been named Alumnus of the Year. Geraghty is co-founder of SGA Engineers, a Canton consulting firm specializing in mechanical, electrical, plumbing and technology engineering. He began his career with Hilscher-Clarke after graduating in 2006 from Tuscarawas Valley and the Electrical Systems Technology program at Buckeye Career Center.
The Buckeye Foundation Awards Ceremony is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. Tours of the building will be available from 6 to 6:35 p.m., with the program beginning at 6:45 p.m. To reserve a seat, call the Buckeye Foundation office at 330-447-5522.
