Family Fishing Day set at Norma Johnson Center
The event will be held at the Norma Johnson Center’s Preservation Pond, located behind the yellow pole barn on state Route 39
TuscParks will host Family Fishing Day from 9:30 to 11 a.m. June 20 at the Norma Johnson Center.
Registration will be held from 9 to 9:30 a.m. The free event is open to the public, but families must register during that time. Children younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
The event will be held at the Norma Johnson Center’s Preservation Pond, located behind the yellow pole barn on state Route 39. It is sponsored by the Kimble Family and an ODNR Step Outside grant.
Prizes will be awarded throughout the day, with special awards announced at 11:15 a.m. Volunteers will be available to help those who are new to fishing.
Participants who do not have a fishing pole and would like to take part should call the TuscParks office to make arrangements.
The event will be canceled if it rains. The Norma Johnson Center is located at 4033 state Route 39 NW, Dover, between Dover and Sugarcreek.
For questions, call the TuscParks office at 330-365-1221 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. In case of inclement weather, visit TuscParks.com, normajohnsoncenter.com or the TuscParks and Norma Johnson Center Facebook pages for updates.
Fishing is allowed year-round at the Norma Johnson Center’s five ponds on a catch-and-release basis from dawn to dusk.
