Tuscarawas County Library system offers genealogy programs
Programs are free, but registration is required at tusclibrary.org
The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will offer a variety of genealogy and family history classes this summer.
“This summer we have a variety of programs to offer, including a Genealogy Websites Class, our regular Book-a-Genealogist programs to help unearth personal family trees and records, and a program in July discussing the popular and free FamilySearch.org website,” Public Service Associate Gina Merrill said.
Programs include Book a Genealogist, with 90-minute sessions at the Main Library from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 11, July 2, July 15 and July 29.
Preservation Station will be held at 10 a.m. June 18 or 6 p.m. July 22 at the Main Library.
A Sharon Moravian Cemetery Walk will be held at 10:30 a.m. June 20 at Sharon Moravian Cemetery, 4776 Moravian Church Road SE, New Philadelphia. Kim Jurkovic of the Tuscarawas County Historical Society will lead the walk.
Genealogy Websites for Beginners will be held at 6 p.m. June 29 at the Main Library.
Using FamilySearch for Genealogy Research will be held at 6 p.m. July 27 at the Bolivar Branch with genealogist Deb Kitko.
