Tusky Valley Ruritan honors school employees
A quilt made by club member Russell Dean will be raffled at the Bolivar Strawberry Festival
The Tusky Valley Ruritan Club met May 19 for its monthly dinner meeting at the Trojan Center in the Tusky Valley School District Administration Building in Zoarville.
Fourteen members and five guests attended. The meal was catered by Kathy’s Cookies, Candies & Catering.
The club presented its Tusky Valley certified and noncertified employees of the year awards. Tusky Valley Elementary Principal Corey Street made the presentations.
Allie Ryan, a guidance counselor at Tusky Valley Elementary School, was named Certified Employee of the Year. Kayla Duby, a paraprofessional at Tusky Valley Elementary School, was named Noncertified Employee of the Year.
Members discussed holding a gun auction during the Atwood Fall Festival. Club member Rich Kohler will gather details and report back to the club.
A sign-up sheet was circulated for workers at the food trailer and strawberry tent during the Bolivar Strawberry Festival, set for June 4-6. Club members will set up June 3. In addition to food, the club will sell quarts of fresh strawberries. A quilt made by club member Russell Dean also will be raffled.
The next club meeting will be held at 6 p.m. June 16 at the Trojan Center.
