Leadership Tuscarawas honors Campbell
The Leadership Tuscarawas Alumni Award of Excellence honors graduates who demonstrate leadership, civic involvement and service throughout Tuscarawas County and beyond
Leadership Tuscarawas announced Michelle Campbell as the recipient of the 2026 Leadership Tuscarawas Alumni Award of Excellence, recognizing her leadership, professional achievement and commitment to the Tuscarawas County community.
Campbell, a 2016 graduate of Leadership Tuscarawas, was selected through a voting process that included nearly 10 nominees. She was nominated by her husband, Tuscarawas County Sheriff Orvis Campbell.
Campbell serves as controller at R&J Cylinder and Machine and is the elected treasurer for the city of New Philadelphia.
A graduate of New Philadelphia High School and Buckeye Career Center, where she studied accounting and computer technology, Campbell later earned a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University at Tuscarawas.
In 2024, she earned certification in bank financial management from the American Bankers Association. Leadership Tuscarawas said Campbell has more than 20 years of financial leadership experience in both the private and public sectors.
As city treasurer, Campbell has worked to strengthen financial reporting to council and residents to promote transparency and public trust.
Her community involvement includes serving as co-chair of the Noah’s Hope Gala in 2025 and 2026 and chair of the annual New Philadelphia Rotary HealthCheck in 2026. She also serves as treasurer for the Rotary Club of New Philadelphia and previously held treasurer positions with Noah’s Hope and the Tuscarawas Philharmonic.
