Library offers MakerSpace, technology programs
These programs highlight the many ways the library system supports creativity, lifelong learning and access to technology
The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will offer June programs focused on MakerSpace projects, technology skills and library card resources.
“These programs highlight the many ways our library system supports creativity, lifelong learning and access to technology,” Technology Training Coordinator Leigh Burnham said. “With opportunities happening across multiple locations, we’re making it easy for everyone in our community to get hands-on and discover new skills.”
Sublimation Surprise will be held at 6 p.m. June 9 and 30 at the Main Library. Participants can create an item using the sublimation printer and heat press. Items will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. All ages are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
Free Streaming with Library Apps will be held at 11 a.m. June 10 at the Main Library. Participants will learn how to stream movies, take guitar lessons, read magazines and more with a library card. Attendees should bring a device.
Cricut Design Space 101 will be held at 2 p.m. June 17 at the Main Library. Participants will learn basic navigation of Design Space software, explore Cricut’s free images, projects and fonts, and complete a guided project.
MakerSpace Personalized Water Bottle will be held at 2 p.m. June 18 at the Sugarcreek Branch. Teens and adults can register for a 15-minute appointment to make a water bottle decal using the Cricut. Water bottles and supplies will be provided.
Computer Basics will be held at 2 p.m. June 23 at the Main Library. The hands-on course will cover turning on a computer, using a mouse and navigating the internet and keyboard. No experience is required.
3D Design Basics Keychain will be held at 6 p.m. June 30 at the Bolivar Branch. Adults can learn beginner CAD skills while designing a custom keychain.
The free programs require registration. Register at tusclibrary.org or by calling the Bolivar Branch at 330-874-2720, Sugarcreek Branch at 330-852-2813 or Main Library at 330-364-4474.
