Carrollton band to perform at state contest
Ohio Music Education Association’s state contest to be held at GlenOak High School
The Carrollton High School Concert Band is scheduled to perform at 5:35 p.m. Friday, May 1 at the Ohio Music Education Association’s state contest to be held at GlenOak High School auditorium, 1801 Schneider St NE, Canton.
Competing in Class C, the band will perform the following selections: "Washington Post March" by John Philip Sousa, "Kentucky 1800" by Clair Grundman (the Class C required number), and "Angelic Celebration" by Randall Standridge.
The band, under the direction of Head Band Director David Dickerhoof and Assistant Director Lorie Strader, received a Superior rating at the District 8 adjudicated event held March 6 at Hoover High School in North Canton to qualify for the state event.
